Conference Highlights

Opening Session - Live the Mission, Share the Vision: Our Friday morning opening session is attended by all to help us begin the confernece in fellowship.  We will review the weekend's agenda and discuss the survey results gathered during the online registration process.

Friday Evening International Attendee Networking Event:  This annual event is a great way to meet our international members from far and wide.  Light refreshments provided.

AHPC Certification Program Graduation, class of 2017-18: Graduates of the Certification Program will be celebrated on Friday evening as they receive their certificates and are officially recognized as Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarians and Technicians. Light refreshments provided.

Saturday Night Dinner and Silent Auction (Keynote speaker Dr. Robin Downing): This event is a hit every year and 2018 will be our best yet.  Dinner is served as Dr. Robin Downing shares insights into animal ethics and hospice.  Throughout the evening, our silent auction items are on display.  All proceeds go to the IAAHPC's student scholarship fund.

Sunday Closing Luncheon:  The conference will round up with a closing luncheon in the main hall.  

Euthanasia Technique Laboratory:  Each year, the IAAHPC offers a euthanasia technique laboratory to elevate attendee understanding of all AVMA approved techniques.  This laboratory is open to all attendees and is a required component for the AHPC Certification Program.  This year, the laboratory is presented by the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA).

Honoring Ceremony: The work we do with the dying deserves special recognition.  The honoring ceremony pays tribute to all those who have passed on and honors those who do such meaningful work to ensure each and every end-of-life journey is peaceful.  Join us for this special event. More details will be provided during the conference.

This program is RACE approved with the AAVSB for veterinarians and technicians for a total of 30.0 hours of continuing education.  It is also approved by The National Association of Social Workers #886739622 for 23.5 hours of continuing education.
